Jazz Festival

We went to the Jazz Festival for Memorial Day. This was one of my first big outings with Mommy and Daddy. There was so much to see. I got to hear all kinds of music and Mommy says I was very good. Once it got loud, Mommy said it was time to go...it was a long day for me.

Hey there... I'm 2 months old today. I wiegh 13 pounds and 13 ounces now...the doctor says I'm getting big and growing fast. I can smile now and make all kinds of new noises. I am holding my head up alot more and mommy says I'm a scooter. I really like bath time because I get to kick the water everywhere.

38 Weeks- Headed to the Hospital

About ready to pop...we snapped one last shot on the way out the door to the hospital. My water broke at 8am on Friday, March 23rd just before Ken was headed to work...we couldn't have asked for better timing. Mom thought she would get a few more chores done until contractions started at 2 minutes apart...Time to go!

37 Weeks

We are now considered Full-Term...the baby could come anytime now! It looks like we are going to make our last birthing class : ) I'm keeping my fingers crossed that our little guy waits at least one more week. Everything is ready and I am now finished at work. Just a few little projects here and there that I am hoping to finish : ) I have been feeling pretty good depending on the day, but definitely have lots of new feelings that make me wonder how close he really is. A few false alarms in the middle of the night, but nothing that has brought us to the hospital yet. We are getting so excited to meet him!

My mom and sister out did themselves yet again and threw a shower for me with all my girlfriends. Polka dots and monkeys were everywhere and I think he has all the socks he needs...they did such a good job. Everyone has been so generous...I think we are officially ready and have pretty much everything we need! Little Jack hung out with his Auntie, behind the cushions, while I opened my gifts : )

36 Weeks- 9 MONTHS!

So we are officially in the last month! Doc says that the baby is in the 50th percentile for size. I'm feeling great these days and wouldn't mind going to our due date...a few more projects to finish : ) We are getting very excited to meet him, however, Mom could do without all the videos in birthing class!

35 Weeks

We had another ultrasound last week and our little guy is measuring just about a week older (36 wks) and 5.5 pounds. So, the bets are on that he's coming early! We'll see, maybe he'll just be a bit bigger: ) It was, of course, fun to see him again and see how much more developed he is. We started our birthing classes, hopefully we'll see it to the last class, we are the first due date amongst the couples.

34 Weeks

Well, it definitely is starting to feel close...especially since we are hearing about all these super early deliveries! Hopefully he'll cook for another 5-6 weeks : ) His movements are starting to change a bit...more rolls and shifts rather than kicks, pokes, and streches. He's growing and taking up much more space. Doc says that at 34 weeks is when they start to grow at their own individual pace, determining their size at birth- we are very curious as to how big he will be. It might just be that we are also settling on a name...could it be??? We won't give it up yet though, it still could change when we see him : )

33 Weeks

Ken and I spent our 33 week marker in Yosemite for one last get away before the little guy arrives. Not a whole lot of snow, but it was beautiful and relaxing. The little guy behaved the whole time, not a single contraction while we were gone, mom was just super slow on the little hikes : )

8 Months...feels like we are coming into the home strech. Starting to feel more tired these days along with a whole new set of strange and not so great feelings : ) The doc says I will most likely feel everything at this point. He is still as active as ever and keeps us smiling.

I am finally feeling hiccups : ) He has them just about everday now and they haven't gotten annoying yet like everyone says they will. I suppose there are plenty of cramped movements that I do get enough of : )...the hiccups are pretty cut right now.

ALL HANDS ON DECK...TORPEDO ALERT!!!

Holy cow, check out the belly on Shelley! It looks like Little Man is definitely a leader, just by the way that he's so far out in front. Shelley's been feeling LOTS of stretching and poking and PRODDING and sometimes when she lifts up her shirt to look at her belly, you can see what looks like waves on her stomach! Like mom, Baby Mac is a NIGHT OWL! He's always moving, flipping, rolling and kicking around bedtime. Man, I hope that he gets it all out of his system now so that we can get some sleep while preparing for Coeur d'Alene! Wishful thinking maybe, but I want my baby growing up to be a dreamer and a wishful thinker, so I'll set the example now :)

29 Weeks

We are officially in the third trimester now and he is definitely growing and wedging his limbs in all sorts of new places : ) We start seeing the Doc every other week now...we had another ultrasound (probably the last), he was head down and sucking his thumb...too cute! The nursery is finally on it's way...we, or at least Ken, are painting, base boarding, and waiting for carpet. We can't wait till the crib is in and he has his own little space. Mom is growing a bit impatient : ) and can't wait!

27 & 36 Weeks

Even though the gear doesn't fit the same : ) We went for a hike on News Years Eve and had a great time. I can't quite go as fast as I used to, but it was a beautiful day and baby did great. We are almost to the third trimester...hard to believe...and I am already noticing lots of changes. I think they are right by saying the second is the feel good trimester : ) I find myself sitting and watching my belly like a movie lately...he's very entertaining!

26 Weeks and Cousin Jack

Despite how great Shelley looks, the little man has been causing trouble...kicking and punching 24/7. Apparently, baby Mac is going to be a world class climber, because he has managed to spend the last week wedged in what feels like the upper regions of Shelley's ribcage. Shelley is getting full faster and on less food, which means that I have to take up the slack in the eating department.

After receiving a sewing machine for Christmas from Grandma McKee, Shelley has passsed Sewing 101 today. Her final exam was the completion of a receiving blanket and a baby cap for baby Mac.

Cousin Jack, Aunt Nikki and Nana dropped in today to spend some time with Auntie. Here's Jack Jack and cousin spending some 'guy time' together.

25 Weeks

We had another ultrasound and have a picture of his little face...if we are not able to load it we'll show as we see you all. Once again it was great to see him, this time we were able to see kicks and movement that I could feel at the same time...pretty cool! We love seeing him...we are told he now weighs 1lb, 7ozs and is just over a foot long (growing like a little sprout). I can definitely feel him much more than ever before and feeling great. As we get ready for the holidays and wait for family to arrrive, we wanted to wish you all happy holidays!

My belly is starting to resemble the shape of my sister's while pregnant with little Jack...could I get the torpedo too?? This week we heard the little guy's heart beat again and it sounded nothing like a heartbeat, but like a galloping horse- we love that sound : )

Lots of belly movement these days...Ken finally felt the little guy in the last 2 weeks : )...a little freaky he says, but very cool! Our little peanut is punching, kicking, and swimming all the time. With the exception of all the new little aches and pains, I am feeling great and can't believe it has already been 5 1/2 months. We've been working on names and starting on the nursery, so we'll keep everyone posted.

20 Weeks...It's a BOY!!!

So all of those predictions were wrong...that's right it's a boy! We couldn't be more excited, however, it is taking a bit of time to realize that the boys will now rule the majority in the family : ) Our ultrasound was amazing, our little guy was swimming around like crazy and seems to be quite flexible. Everything measured perfectly and he is very healthy so far...Mom loved to hear that.

I am feeling him move all the time now and can't stop eating...apparently this is a big growth spirt time. The belly definitely feels like it is growing. Maybe Dad will be able to feel some kicks soon.

More to come...we will be uploading his first portraits from the ultrasound asap...the requests have been flying in : )

19 weeks

Okay, so the biggest change this week is that Shelley is wearing a green shirt. Other than that...not much change. Oh, the verdict is still out, but we may have movement. I was in the back of the house and I heard a "EEEEIIIIIIEEEE" from the front of the house followed closely by a 'COME HERE!" Shelley is kind of holding the bottom left of her belly and says, "I got a poke!" Well, I felt and prodded and thumped the little rascal on it's head (or at least where I thought the head would be), but no other pokes followed. So, we don't know for sure, but it could quite well be that Little Baby McKee took it's first swings this week. Making it's presence known, so to speak.

18 weeks+

Well, Shelley is just over 18 weeks now and we've got a first look at what will probably be a more common phenomenon: Bellimus Exposium, a condition more commonly known as exposed belly. While it is a condition sometimes found in middle aged males, particularly Chicago Bears fans, the condition is mostly limited to pregnant women as their pregnancy progresses beyond 18 weeks.

We're very excited...in 9 days we head in to get another look at little baby McKee. This time, hopefuly, to find out if it's a boy or girl. Big thanks to our friend, Dr. Sacher, who gave us the OBGYN solution to a foolproof way to ensure that the baby cooperates: eat chocolate before the ultrasound. Since this will be Shelley's first bite of chocolate since we found out that she was pregnant, she is counting down the days.

What a difference a week makes! Boo and I just picked up Shelley and squirt from the airport (she's been up for 23 hours, but is still smiling!) and we took a quick picture before letting Shelley crash. Any day now she's going to say, "rub my bel-ly." I just know it.

The word is out! Shelley is 16 weeks pregnant with Baby McKee as of Tuesday, October 17. Check out the bump! We are very excited to be able too keep everyone up to date on the progress that baby and mom are making. Stay tuned for weekly updates.
